Kevin Boucher Spring Art Exhibition - '4 of the Best' - 2nd October to 6th November 2011 Kevin started his professional career on 1970 when held his first exhibition in a butchers shop in Moonee Ponds. He was very excited about becoming a full time artist. He spent the next six years painting for a company that distributed his work around Australia. He used twelve different signatures for these paintings and he produced about twenty a week, the average price of these paintings being about seven dollars - you may even own one of these early works by Kevin. During the eighties he worked the shopping centre circuit displaying and demonstrating painting technique and this helped establish "his name" with the public. These were his start in the Art Business, he has come a long way since. Now a veteran of 30 solo shows. The nineties saw Kevin enter into the Fine Art Gallery scene around Australia. With is persistence and the support of a couple of good art dealers Kevin was overwhelmed when a major work, an 8ft x 4ft canvas, "Moving the Heard" sold almost immediately for $20,000. Smaller works had begun to sell regularly and after almost twenty five years of being "a struggling artists" he now has recognition and security he deserves. Kevin has won numerous prestigious awards, regularly demonstrates at art shows and gives private tuition. Kevin's paintings are bold and painterly. His brush strokes build up to create the "Australian Landscape"
